DOG POLICIES

All dogs must be on a leash at all times.
Dogs will be toileted in designated areas and handlers must pick-up and dispose of waste in the receptacles provided on-site.
Handlers should expect to keep their dogs confined in a crate or vehicle when not working. If you are bringing more than one dog, expect to crate out of your vehicle.
If you are crating on the turf, please tarp your entire crating area. Potty accidents on the turf carry a penalty of $10.
Summer weather in North Carolina is typically hot and humid. Please plan to bring sufficient shade panels or anything else necessary to keep your dogs and yourself comfortable.

The closest airport is Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) in Greensboro, NC. It is approximately 25 miles away. Local lodging options can be found here.

There is plenty of on-site parking for participants at the front of the facility. Please drive carefully due to chance encounters with randomly spawning sheep.

Dry (no hookups) RV parking is available for free at Quicksilver! Generators are allowed and water is available via the hose at the front of the building. RVs and campers should park in the rear of the facility.

There are various restaurants and grocery stores approximately a 7-15 minute drive from Quicksilver.

We are applying for CEUs from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), and Karen Pryor Academy (KPA). Watch this space for further details.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We are pleased to offer scholarships for Conference Unleashed 2026 as part of our effort to expand inclusivity in the dog training community and provide assistance to those who are experiencing financial hardship.

To apply, please email us a short statement (~250 words) letting us know how a scholarship, if awarded to you, will contribute to our goals of greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in the positive reinforcement animal training community. We will randomly select partial and full scholarship recipients from the pool of applicants at a later date.

We are also happy to offer payment plans, as long as the payment is completed in full before the conference start date. Please email us to set one up.

REGISTRATION FAQs

How do I register?
You can register here. Click on the menu option that best fits how you would like to attend the conference. Once you have proceeded through the payment page, you will receive an email in your inbox with a registration form in order to tell us about yourself and any animals you are3 bringing to the conference.

What's included in the registration fee?
In-person conference registration includes access to all of the scheduled presentations, working labs as either auditor or participant, and social and a la carte events. You also get access to the conference recordings, including any sessions you may not have made it to and any downloadable documents associated with the events, FOR LIFE!

What's NOT included in the fee?
In-person attendees are responsible for their own meals. There is a Food Lion grocery store about a 7 minute drive away, along with restaurants in the area. We will be providing coffee, tea and light snacks at the facility.

Can I cancel my registration?
In-Person: If your circumstances change and you cannot attend the conference, you may cancel by June 1 for a full refund less a $30 processing fee. You may cancel by July 1 for a 50% refund less a $30 processing fee. After this deadline, no refunds will be issued unless we can fill your working spot (the processing fee will still apply). You may also transfer your individual registration to another person. To cancel or transfer a registration, please contact the Control Unleashed team.

Virtual: There are no refunds for livestream events. You won't miss out on any content even if you're unable to watch the livestream on the scheduled dates. The conference recordings will be available on-demand and the Discord server will continue to be accessible after the conference is over.

Is the conference close captioned?

What equipment do I need to watch the livestream or the recordings?

The livestream will be broadcast using Zoom. For a list of what operating systems and devices are supported, please refer to their help article.

The recordings will be disseminated via Google Drive. Watching the recorded presentations will take less bandwidth than watching the livestream because the video playback will be buffered as necessary. If you are encountering technical difficulties, please contact the Control Unleashed team.

When are the presentation recordings available?

We try to upload the recordings at the end of each day, but depending on circumstances, it can take longer for the recordings to be available.
