Approximately one million shelter animals are euthanized in the US every year. At the same time, many of our country’s Veterans are experiencing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). As many as 22 Veterans take their own life everyday.

Pets for Vets® founder Clarissa Black has created a solution by building a bridge between both populations by rescuing and training shelter animals for Veterans. Our program is provided at no cost to the Veterans. Her unique program customizes each match by ascertaining the superpowers of both the Veteran and the animal to create a Super Bond®. Potential animals are given the agency to choose to participate in the program based on their behavioral responses.

Pets for Vets® is looking to partner with trainers and shelters across the country to continue to expand the program. Clarissa has created a generous opportunity for R+ trainers located anywhere in the United States to join her team while keeping a flexible schedule, earning stipends, and receiving professional development opportunities. Shelters can also partner with Pets for Vets by providing animal recommendations based on behavior profiles that match our Veterans’ personality and lifestyle profiles.

Since 2002, Family Paws has been dedicated to promoting safe, harmonious relationships between dogs and families. Founder Jennifer Shryock has remained committed to reducing stress and increasing safety for expecting and new parents with family dogs. What began as a focused mission has expanded into a global educational movement, equipping hundreds of professionals with the knowledge to support families during this critical and often overlooked transition.

Family Paws has reshaped the careers of dog professionals by deepening their expertise in dog and baby/toddler safety. Their courses are designed for those looking to integrate this specialization into their business, allowing them to better support families and collaborate with other professionals during early parenthood.
